Crispy Chicken Shawarma image

Ingredients

  • chicken breasts 2
  • onion 1 sliced
  • olive oil 2 tsp
  • minced garlic 1.5 tsp
  • salt, pepper, paprika, cumin 1 tsp each
  • cinnamon, chili flakes 1/2 tsp each
  • fat free greek yogurt 1/2 cup
  • lemon 1/2 squeezed
  • tomato paste 3 tbsp
  • sweetener or honey 1 tbsp
  • pita 1
  • pickles to taste

Method

    Slice chicken breasts thinly.

    Combine chicken with onion, 1 tsp olive oil, garlic, and spices.

    Mix tomato paste, sweetener, and 1 tsp olive oil in a separate bowl to create the coating.

    Cook the chicken mixture in a pan over medium-low heat.

    Whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to make the garlic sauce.

    Split the pita in half.
